AirSho Response
Dear Editor,
The professor stopped in the middle of class as the air show practiced above NDSU Thursday. We laughed, as did the professor, as he tried to talk over the rumblings. Then I realized that in some parts of this world it's not laughter but fear that people feel when they hear that sound. Small villages with their people, mostly simple farmers, scurrying to take cover. We on the other hand pump our fists and cheer, not unlike middle-easterners the media portrays as crazed zealots.
As I was driving home I saw that they were not just buzzing NDSU but the entire city. Doesn't anyone remember what planes do to buildings? Those little planes won't take down a building but I would rather pick up the pieces out of a field than 13th Avenue. Aren't there a few open spaces that would be safer just in case?
And to all those who cheered for the Blue Angles remember two things: the next time they have a parade for the Electric Chair you should be out there cheering for it too. Because that's what those things were made for: KILLING. And the Blue Angels is short for The Blue Angels of Death. We cheer for them like some crazed middle-easterners cheer for suicide bombers; the only difference: we bomb and run. I thought we were better.
